Want It Wednesday!

For this week's "Want It" item, I decided to go with something that really caught my eye: this fabulously colorful Versace Floral-Print Stretch-Satin Dress.
This multicolored flower print mini dress is sure to draw attention and turn heads! The primary colors of this bold dress are bright orange and blue, with subtle accent hints of fuchsia, purple, pink, green, and white.
If I had the chance to style someone in this dress, I would first recommend pairing it with these amazing Jimmy Choo Private Patent Leather Sandals in nude. The nude/neutral color is of utmost importance in this styling because the dress is so busy, bold, and colorful. All attention should be on the dress in this case, so your best option is to pair it with a shoe that will not attract much attention. These Jimmy Choo sandals have a 5 inch heel and have a gold zipper closure detail at the back.
As far as jewelry goes with this styling, I once again would recommend sticking to simple designs since all eyes should be on this bold dress. This YSL Arty Flower ring in gold will do the trick- It offers an abstract, golden, floral design, which compliments this dress perfectly. For earrings, just a simple gold stud will work best.

This dress will make such a dramatic statement at any event, and when styled correctly, could really be a jaw-dropper! If only I could have a dress like this, and more importantly, a place to wear it to! ;)

All items included in this post can be purchased at www.Net-A-Porter.com
Retail Prices: Versace Floral-Print Stretch-Satin Dress, $1,775; Jimmy Choo Private Patent Leather Sandals, $950; YSL Arty Flower Ring, $195

My Most-Loved Necklace

I have always been a jewelry lover, but never in my life have I ever loved a necklace more than this one. My classic Chanel long pearl necklace with interlocking C's is my absolute FAVORITE!

I dreamed about purchasing this necklace for a very long time, and finally splurged and received it as an early Christmas present last year from my amazing parents :) I had seen countless pictures of celebrities, socialites, and fashionistas alike sporting their Chanel pearl necklaces, which only increased my love and obsession for it, and made me want it even more.

This Chanel piece is classic and timeless- pearls, I promise you, will never go out of style. The interlocking C's are not too flashy or bold, but still let you know that the necklace is Chanel. You can wear this piece long (my preferred way) or double it up and wear it short. I love wearing this necklace with a simple black dress, black tights, and black & white shoes, which totally reinforces the classic Chanel black & white look.
Whenever I put this necklace on it truly makes me feel special- it is the most beautiful necklace I own and I know that I will treasure, appreciate, and love it for the rest of my life.

Do any of YOU have a piece of jewelry that makes you feel special?? How do you wear it?? Please share in a comment on this post, I would LOVE to hear about it! Thanks for reading, fashionistas!

Technology of the Moment- iPad Review

I have been thinking about writing this post for quite some time now, but I wasn't sure how interested my blog readers would be about a technology review; however, when I looked back to my blog's original "mission statement" if you will, Fab-YOU-lous is committed to teaching others how to live a fabulous, stylish, and glamorous lifestyle, which I believe does include new, stylish, and hot technology such as the most saught-after technology piece at the moment- Apple's iPad!

I am a fortunate owner of an iPad, and purchased mine the week that Apple began selling them in stores (I have had it for several months now). I, like many others, are obsessed with all of Apple's technology- I own a MacBook, iPhone, iPod, and iPad and have gone through many versions of all of the above listed products. So naturally, I had to purchase the iPad immediately and add it to my Apple collection.
The screen is absolutely fabulous- the colors and depth of the pictures and graphics that you are holding right in your hands is amazing! The screen is the perfect size, but the iPad does get heavy if you are holding it upwright for awhile. A huge perk for this device is the battery life- It is phenomenal- I once had my iPad on and used it for 5 days without charging it!

I have downloaded pages and pages of apps, and I am very pleased with them all. Most have been free, but I splurged on a few that I thought were really cool, such as a stargazer application that shows you exactly where any constellation is in the sky using your iPad as a reference point. Also, I downloaded the Pages application, which is Apple's version of Word- This works well, but I would not recommend typing a long paper on this device, it is best for short edits to documents.

For someone who doesn't do much more than search the internet, check emails, use AIM, and play Solitare, this device allows me to do it all with ease. It is a great device for traveling due to its small size and light weight, as compared to a regular laptop; however, I still would not travel without my MacBook laptop as well, due to some of the missing features on the iPad, including: webcam, USB port (for camera, music, documents, etc.), and CD drive.
Overall, I enjoy my iPad very much, but definitely could live without it. The best way to describe its functionality is that it is in a space between the iPhone and MacBook, but doesn't replace either of them; therefore, making it a fun device, but definitely unnecessary if you, like myself, own an iPhone and a MacBook.

Verdict= 3/5 stars

You can purchase an iPad at Apple (online or in stores)
Retail Price: $500-$829

LV Emilie Wallet

I am so excited to write this post about my new wallet! I have been lusting over this fabulous Louis Vuitton Emilie Wallet for so long, and I finally gave in and purchased it.

I really wanted to purchase it in the NYC 5th ave store so I could get the full experience, which is always fun and exciting. However, since I wanted to get my wallet personalized with my initials hot stampted inside (and I have previously had a bad experience getting this done in the store), I decided that just purchasing my wallet online would be the easiest option.

I was so surprised how quick Louis Vuitton processed and fulfilled my order- the night I placed my order, I received a shipping notice for my purchase, which was crazy fast since it had to be hot stamped. The free shipping delivery only took 3 days! Overall, I was very pleased with the online ordering system.
Now to the fun part- my wallet! I LOVE IT! It is red in the inside, but has the classic brown LV monogram on the exterior, which I think adds a fun, youthful, and current twist to the classic LV product. The interior zipper pocket, credit card slots, and money pockets are all great for optimal organization. I can't wait to enjoy this wallet for the many years to come!

Verdict= Love it! (4/5 stars)

You can purchase this Emilie Wallet at Louis Vuitton (in stores or online).

Want It Wednesday!

This week's "Want It Wednesday" item is such a classic: Christian Louboutin pumps! But they are not just any pumps, they're fuchsia glitter pumps!! These whimsical and glamorous pumps have a five and 1/2 inch heel with a hidden platform; And, of course, Louboutin's signature red sole is a fabulous and classic addition to this pump.
Seriously, what fashionista couldn't adore these amazing pumps- they remind me so much of a Barbie doll! I absolutely love the glitz and glitter, so adding fuchsia and Louboutin to the equation can only make these pumps that much better! These amazing pumps are truly perfection and are definitely my lust after item for the week.

You can purchase these Christian Louboutin Declic Glitter Pumps at Saks.

Trend Alert- Ruffles

Calling all fashionistas! We have a new hot trend on our hands- ruffles! Ruffles have taken the spotlight in many fashions for this season, especially in dresses. This has been a very prominent detail on runways and red carpets, but lucky for all of us, this trend has also transitioned into the everyday fashionista's wardrobe!
Ruffles are a classic, classy, and chic detail for any garment this season, dresses in particular. Ruffles add such a beautiful and feminine twist to a dress, especially in bright summer colors. I would recommend for every fashionista to purchase a few different styles of summer ruffle dresses in varying colors and styles of ruffles- There are plenty of options out there, so keep looking until you find a ruffle style that works for you!
Enjoy and experiment with this summer trend!

My Favorite Purse EVER

Looking at my own personal collection of purses, which is honestly quite extensive (hey, some people collect art or stamps... I collect purses!), I have decided to write a post on my favorite purse that I own. This is such a hard post to write because I love all of my bags so much each for different reasons! But if I have to single it out to only one style, it would have to be from my favorite brand, Chanel.

The Chanel classic flap Maxi Jumbo purse is hands down my absolute favorite style bag that I own. Although I have determined my favorite style, I have a few bags in the Maxi Jumbo size, and I cannot decide between my two favorites- I love them both for such different reasons.
My first favorite is this silver lambskin flap with gold hardware. I am obsessed with glitz, rhinestones, metallics, and shiny things so this clearly is the perfect bag for me! When the Chanel sales rep brought this purse out from the back room I literally gasped- I knew it was perfect and made for me the second I saw it! I love wearing this bag so much, it really just adds such a "BAM!" factor to any outfit- I LOVE IT!
My second favorite is this 10c red caviar flap with silver hardware. This bag is honestly my dream bag- I actually went to the Chanel boutique when I bought my silver flap hoping/wanting to purchase a bright red flap instead; however, according to the sales rep, it "didn't exist" which literally almost made me cry, but that is another story.

Anyways, it is from the Chanel 10c (2010 cruise) collection and I got it for Christmas this past year. My amazing Mother spend HOURS calling every Chanel in the country and begging them to locate one of these bags since it was sold out everywhere (there were long waiting lists at every store). I was so happy and surprised when I opened it up on Christmas morning- It was the best present ever and I ADORE wearing this purse!
So now that you know my favorite bag, what is yours??? Comment on this post and let me know- I want to hear from all you fabulous fashionistas out there!! :)

Trend Alert- Wedges

Calling all fashionistas, get ready for this trend for the summer- wedge heeled sandals! I personally love wedges because they are the "practical high-heel"; perfect for days when you may be doing a bit of walking, but still would like to dress up and wear high-heels.

Wedges are also a great alternative to regular high-heels for when you will be walking on uneven pavement or cobblestones- Now your heel won't get stuck in the holes of the street, which is a problem I find myself having a lot when I wear stiletto heels.

Wedges are the perfect sandal for the summer. They offer fashionistas both practicality with the femininity and fabulousness of a high-heel. I would recommend purchasing a few pairs: at least one in a solid neutral and another pair in a fun bright color. Experiment with this trend and have fun!

Want it Wednesday!

A Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 bag was one of my first Louie bags, so it definitely holds a special place in my heart, but I find myself not wearing it as much as I used to anymore- To be quite frank, I am sort of bored of it and opt to carry something more exciting and current. Well, this week's "Want It Wednesday" item is the solution that fixes all of those problems.

Louis Vuitton offers personalization of a select few of their products in their new Mon Monogram line; They specifically personalize all sizes of the Speedy bag, the Keepall duffel, and Pegase rolling suitcase. My "Want it" this week is the Mon Monogram Pegase 55 Business rolling suitcase. You can choose to put your initials on the suitcase with various sizes and placement of colorful stripes.
This personalization option makes designing your own bag so much fun, and you know that it is one of a kind and only yours, which I think is so fabulous! Personally, I would make mine with my initials "A.M.M" with vertical stripes in light blue and ivory- SO GORGEOUS! I absolutely love that Louis Vuitton is allowing its customers to put their own twist on some of their most classic styles. I can't wait to get one- You know it is only a matter of time ;)

You can purchase and personalize at Louis Vuitton in stores and online.
Retail Price for Mon Monogram Pegase 55 business: $3890

BEST MANICURE OF MY LIFE!!!

Oh my goodness, words can not describe how OBSESSED I am with my nails right now!! After lots of lust and research, I finally got Calgel put on my nails, and truthfully I have never had a better manicure in my life! Calgel is a superior nail system that not only promotes nail heath, strength, and growth, but also last over 3 weeks without chipping, lifting, or peeling- Calgel is my dream come true!

Since I am lucky enough to be in NYC currently, a hub and mecca of nail salons, I was able to find a FABULOUS establishment that specializes in applying Calgel to your nails. I went to Marie Nails, which is located in the SoHo area, yesterday evening.

I had a vague idea of what I wanted done, but not a completely formed idea due to the vast amount of designs possible (I am SO bad at decisions). Calgel is available in over 80 colors, but the possibilities of designs are truly infinite. When I arrived at Marie Nails, my amazing nail technician directed me to a stack of huge books with thousands of designs, following up with "We can do anything!"
Well she wasn't kidding, they honestly can do anything you could possibly dream to your nails- from leopard print to glitter to a Hello Kitty 3-D face! And even more fabulously, it is all hand-painted on by the nail technician- no stickers or stencils used here at all- this is truly art! You can opt to get 3-D art too, which sounds so cool, but being a first-timer I didn't want to go all out just yet.
I decided to go with a white and glitter gradation design (fading from clear to glitter to white) and then got rhinestones applied and a rose painted on both of my ring fingers to top it off! It took around 1.5 hours total and cost $55. I LOVE IT!!!!

I am SO pleased with the ways my nails look and the experience as a whole- I got so many compliments today already! I am excited to see how they hold up over time (they should last 3 weeks without any chips or lifting) and I can't wait to experiment and get more crazy with the designs. Every time I look down at my nails I can't help but smile! :)

Here is the FINAL PRODUCT:
Verdict= FABULOUS! (5/5 stars)

I got my nails done at Marie Nails in SoHo, NYC.
Total cost for this design was $55; Prices start at $40 for plain colors and go up from there depending on design and art; Prices vary at different salons.

A Shoe Necessity

Being a fashionista with a countless number of shoes, it is easy to notice which styles I actually wear frequently and which other styles end up just collecting dust in my closet. One shoe that I have found is actually a necessity and my most frequently worn is the ballerina flat, and more specifically, a pure black plain ballet flat shoe.

I know that the word "plain" is something that I personally cringe at due to my obsession with glitz, glamour, and typically being over-the-top. However, in this case, being plain is a necessity. Something that every fashionista needs is a plain black ballet flat- I promise it will be the most worn shoe in your closet.

Reasons why= This shoe will provide you comfort, while still allowing you to be able to look cute and chic. Black goes with everything (except navy, obvs), which makes this shoe universal and perfect with almost any outfit. The "plain" aspect of it is so important because this shoe is meant to just be a shoe, nothing more- it is perfect for days when you do not want to take anyones eyes off of your fabulous ensemble, or on days when you just need something functional yet stylish.

My black ballet flats have proven to be my most loved shoe out of all because of their cute, fun, and chic appearance- providing comfort and practicality is just the cherry on top! Experiment with this trend and enjoy!

My Favorite Blush

My favorite blush ever is NARS orgasm blush. This perfect pinky-peach soft sheer pressed powder has a cult following and has won more beauty awards than anyone could ever count.

This is the most universally flattering blush I have ever come across- It truly is the perfect shade for every fashionista who chooses to layer it onto their cheeks (It can be worn alone, or layered to add more depth). Their blush provides a subtle and healthy glow, which flatters with its pinky-peach color and accents of golden shimmer.

I wear NARS orgasm blush color every single day, and truly notice its absence if I were to not. It is long-lasting, not only on your skin throughout the day, but also the amount of product you receive with your purchase (I have had the same compact for a year and it is nowhere near being empty, and keep in mind I wear it everyday).

I recommend this color to anyone and everyone who want a natural and beautiful blush to perfectly highlight their complexion. However, if the orgasm color isn't for you (even though it truly is perfect for everyone), NARS offers a plethora of other colors to choose from.

Verdict= FABULOUS!!! (5/5 stars)

You can purchase NARS blush at NARS stores, Sephora, or any fine department store (Bloomingdales, Nordstroms, etc).

Trend Alert- Summer Scarves

Although a "summer scarf" seems like an oxymoron, celebrities, socialites, and fashionistas alike will all be sporting this summer season trend.

I love wearing scarves, so I am excited about this summer trend (now I can wear scarves all year round!) However, the summer scarf is quite different than the winter scarf- This trend encompasses scarves of only VERY lightweight and sheer material, rather than winter's bulky/heavy material. We wouldn't want anyone dying in the heat for fashion (we already make enough sacrifices for style!)

For this season every fashionista should make sure to purchase a few summer scarves: I would recommend investing in at least one neutral solid color (a sheer tan, grey, white), some fun bright colors, and quite a few bold and fierce bright prints.

This trend is a simple, comfortable, and inexpensive way to turn any old outfit from plain to fabulous! Experiment with it and enjoy :)

Airbrushed Perfection

Airbrushed Perfection....Well, not quite. I have been eyeing the TEMPTU airbrush makeup system for quite some time now (every since it became available to purchase at Sephora). TEMPTU has revolutionized the makeup world with this new system, meant for at home and everyday use. TEMPTU's makeup system was created for the everyday fashionistas, like ourselves- giving us access to purchasing an airbrushing system like the professionals use on models and celebrities.

I was ready to purchase this TEMPTU product and all of its bells and whistles online before my lovely Mother knocked some sense into me (Thank God) and told me to go to the store and ask for a demonstration before purchasing the pricey airbrushing system.

So off I went frolicking to the mall, obviously my favorite place on earth, to test out the system at Sephora. I began my free demo, and I thought everything was going well. The sensation when the makeup artist was airbrushing my face was that it was cold, felt weird, and smelt interesting (kind of a weird smell, I wasn't too fond of it, but I figured I could get used to it).

She applied foundation, blush, and highlighter and showed me how to interchange the different pods into the airbrushing system, which all seemed simple enough. So I was done with my trial and on my way home to show my skeptical Mom. I was so excited about it- I looked great in the store, and thought she would say I looked fabulous as well, but quite the opposite occurred. She screamed and said my face was hairy!! WHAT?! I definitely do not have a hairy face, and no woman EVER wants to hear that their face is hairy!! I looked in the mirror quick and it was true, my face looked abnormally and scarily hairy!!! EWWW!!

What happened- Did I begin the transition to becoming a warewolf during my short ride home? I retraced everything that happened in my mind and remembered the Sephora employee saying that you have to be careful with the way you apply the airbrush (only point it down and not up) because if you don't your face will look crazy hairy- the makeup particles get stuck to the hairs on your face and amplify them I guess. Well, clearly she didn't follow her own rule because I looked like an animal and it was all due to the system.

Long story short, I am so thankful that I didn't just dish out the big $$$ to purchase this system before trying it out myself in person. I much prefer to stick to my regular "old-fashioned" ways of makeup application in order to keep my normal hairless and non-warewolf looking face.

Verdict= Glad I tried it, but will not be rushing back to buy it (2/5 stars).

You can purchase the TEMTU airbrushing system at Sephora (in stores and online).
The airbrushing system retails for $225, Refillable pods for foundation, blush, and highlighter range from $30-$55 for each individual pod.

Want It Wednesday!

This week's "Want It Wednesday" item is a classic David Yurman bracelet. This diamond, black onyx, and sterling silver cable bracelet gives a new twist to Yurman's classic cable bracelet, which is a timeless piece that you will see many fashionistas often sporting.

This fabulous bracelet is from the Davis Yurman Waverly Collection. It is much thicker and larger than the famous classic cable, which in my opinion, just makes it that much more FIERCE! The pave diamonds sparkle at a total carat weight of .76 along side the stunningly gorgeous black onyx tips.

I adore this piece! Yurman's cable bracelets always look awesome whether worn alone, paired with other bracelets, or worn along side a watch. There are plenty of options with this fabulous piece of jewelry! LOVES IT!

Available for purchase at David Yurman stores and fine department stores (Saks, Neiman Marcus).

Want Pin Straight Hair?

I have some really long curly locks- they frizz, they poof, get knotted easily, and they take absolutely forever to dry. It can be really difficult to deal with my hair at times due to all of these (*cough*) wonderful properties.

I enjoy wearing my hair curly a lot (mostly because it is just the easiest thing to do), but on the weekend and when I am going out to a party or event I really like to wear to straight. Straightening my hair in the past has been quite the task; It never really got as straight as I wanted it to get and took such a long time to do. I can thankfully say that these issues are gone because of my amazing Chi Straightener!

Although more pricey than any ordinary straightener, Chi lives up to its name by providing a much more pleasant hair straightening experience for the user. The iron heats up very quickly, and gets very hot, so watch your fingers! You only need to go over each sectioned piece of hair once with the Chi- You get gorgeously pin straight smooth hair with very little damage to your locks and with much less time than any other straightener I've ever used.

Chi straighteners come in a countless number of awesome patterns and colors (mine is pink camo print), which only adds to the product's perfection and fun! Also, mine came with a beautiful matching heat-proof zipper bag, which is great for travel when you can't wait for your iron to cool off.

I have used many similar designed straighteners in the past, but I urge you all to just pay the extra money and go for the real deal with a Chi Straightener- I promise it will work SO much better and last you much longer than any other straightener. Now that I have experienced this amazing straightener, I couldn't even imagine straightening my hair with anything other than this- I LOVE IT!

Verdict= FABULOUS!!! (5/5 stars)

You can purchase a Chi Straightener at www.chiretail.com or at beauty stores. Be careful buying it from a random site online because many are counterfeit fakes- It is best to stick with reputable and well known dealers.
Retail Price: Approx. $100-$150

Oh Gaga, What Have You Done?!

I, like every other person on earth right now, love Lady Gaga- I think she is a superstar artist and risk taking fashionista; however, was this risk too much? Fashionistas everywhere have been in shock and awe of Lady Gaga's choice to recently stud/bedazzle her Hermes Birkin bag.

For those of you who do not know the history of this brand, Hermes is the timelessly chic leather company that produces a purse called the Birkin, which is the most sought after symbol of luxury for fashionistas all around the globe (there are wait lists sometimes of over a year to purchase one). For this specific worshipped purse, prices run around and upwards of the $10,000 range.

This is not the first time that Lady Gaga has used a Birkin bag as a piece of art... Back in April of this year Gaga was seen at a Tokyo airport carrying a white Hermes Birkin with "I love little monster, Tokyo love" written in Japanese in black marker across the front of the bag. Gaga posted more photos of the Birkin to her Twitter account which also showed the back covered entirely with random writings and scribbles in Japanese.

Now be it Lady Gaga, or anyone at all, the thought of defacing (or making art?) out of a Birkin makes me absolutely cringe, and I know I do not stand alone in this feeling. But at the same time I respect Gaga's right to do whatever she wants to her Birkin bags because they are hers and she definitely earned them.

What do you think?? Destroyed, Artistic, Interesting or Cringe-worthy?

Supermodel In A Bottle?!

Who wouldn't love to look like a supermodel everyday? Every celebrity and model has a professional makeup artist and stylist fixing them up all the time, which is clearly something that the ordinary fashionista can't have :(

So how can we make up for this? Well we can start with buying some of the products these famous celebrity makeup artists use and learn how to use them correctly. One product that has coined the saying "Supermodel in a bottle" can definitely help all of us with our supermodel transformations, while still keeping on a budget.

Benefit's 'High Beam Liquid Highlighter' is a dewy complexion enhancer that adds a shiny sheen to your skin. This product gives everyone a healthy, youthful glow without adding too much shimmer or sparkle. The product comes in a nail polish like bottle, with a brush very similar to that of a nail polish brush as well, and it lasts forever!

To apply: Do not use more than the amount of product that comes on the brush when you take it out of the bottle. Apply three to four dots of the the highlighter between your eyes, but above your cheekbones (on the highest part of the cheekbone) and blend it out. You can also add it above the top of your eyebrows, on your chin, and right at the point of your top lip (to make your lips look plumper). Experiment with what application looks best for you!

This liquid highlighter really works wonders on every fashionista's skin tone, and adds the perfect amount of sheen to make everyone stop and stare- in a good way, don't worry!

Verdict= Love it! (4/5 stars)

You can purchase Benefit's 'High Beam Liquid Highlighter' at Sephora (in stores and online) or at any Benefit cosmetic store.

Harem Pants- Trend or Travesty?

I have been wondering who decided that wearing pants that make you look like you're wearing an oversized diaper should be in fashion? Well, welcome to the emerging trend of "Harem Pants", a trend that I have unfortunately seen too much of in the fabulous fashion capital New York City.

Although considered fashion-forward and in the now, I personally find these pants disgustingly atrocious. They are the most unflattering things I have ever seen; Even a stick-thin model looks silly in them. The "dropped crotch" design could not be any worse, in my opinion, and attracts attention in all of the wrong ways.

Although truly a "statement piece" for the most daring fashionistas, I personally plan on steering clear of this trend. I hope that much like many other trends, it too will pass, and more importantly go away for a long, long, long time.

What do you thing- Fashion forward trend or fashion travesty??

Hate Waiting for Your Nails to Dry?

I'm sure many other fashionistas out there agree with me when I say that I HATE waiting for my nails to dry after I have painted them- It takes so long! And better yet, I feel like even if I do wait around forever for them to dry, they still somehow miraculously end up chipping or smudging- so annoying! Don't you wish that there was some way to speed up the process and keep your nails perfect and smudge free?

Well, I can grant that wish of yours with this product: Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Anti-Chip Top Coat. This is going to sound hard to believe, but I kid you not, if you apply your nail polish and then follow up with one coat of this, your nails will be completely and totally 100% dried in 30 seconds! No chipping, no smudging- nothing but perfectly smooth and gorgeously shiny nails!

For any fashionista on the go, this is an essential product. It is beyond AMAZING and is something that now that I have used it, I could not imagine living without it!

Verdict= FABULOUS!!! (5/5 stars)

You can purchase the Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Anti-Chip Top Coat at any drug store, such as CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens
Retail Price: around $5.50-$7.50 (depending on store and promotions/sales)

Want It Wednesday!

I have decided to start this new thing this week called "Want It Wednesday"- every Wednesday I plan on writing about something that I love, think is amazing, and want really badly- This will sort of be an ongoing Christmas list of fabulous things. These definitely will always be splurge items, and I am sure they will usually be quite extravagant... Hey, a girl can dream ;)

This week's "Want It" item is something that I have been dying over since the first Sex and the City movie- These immaculate Manolo Blahnik Something Blue Satin Pumps! If you saw the movie, these are the shoes that Carrie left in that huge closet of the penthouse, Big used them to propose to her, and she eventually got married in them.

I got the pleasure of actually seeing them in person quite a few times (ok, so I basically stalk these shoes), and believe me, the pictures certainly do not do them justice. Words can not describe how fabulous these pumps are- the cobalt blue satin is to die for, the crystal brooch provides just the right amount of sparkle, and the 4 1/2 inch heel is the perfect height. In my opinion, these heels are flawless perfection!

Interesting side note: These shoes completely took off after the first Sex and the City movie came out in theaters. Every fashionista wanted their pair- They immediately sold out, and this success was a main reason why the Manolo Blahnik company did not go under during the bad economic times. When asked about Sex and the City and this particular satin pump that Carrie wore, Manolo himself stated "We has a very good year last year, thanks to those stupid satin shoes. That shoe saved our company."

You can purchase the Manolo Blahnik Something Blue Satin Pumps at Neiman Marcus.
Retail Price: $945
